Day 1
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN – LISBON
Arrival at Lisbon Airport. Meeting with the guide.
Short panoramic tour in the main avenues of Lisbon starting at Lisbon Airport. Along the way, opportunity to admire the main avenues of the city including areas: Marques de Pombal Square, Avenida da Liberdade, Restauradores Square, Rossio and Baixa, famous area completely rebuilt after the great earthquake of 1755.
Arrival at the hotel. Check in.

Day 2
LISBON
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure for a visit of Lisbon, capital of Portugal and famous city of the seven hills. Departure towards the oldest part of the city: Alfama. Brief stop near the Cathedral of Lisbon. Then walk to the top of the hill to visit the Castle of São Jorge where you can get a unique panoramic view over the city of Lisbon. Return to the Baixa area through the narrow and irregular streets of the typical Alfama district.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
After Lunch, departure towards the historic district of Belém which celebrates the epic acomplishment of the Portuguese Discoveries. Visit the magnificent Jeronimos Monastery (church and cloister) dated of the XVI century and masterpiece of the Manueline architecture. Then proceed to visit the former Pastry Shop of Belém to taste the famous Pastel de Belém whose history is intertwined in time. Finally short stop next to the Tagus River, at the Monument to the Discoveries, built in 1960 to honor Henry the Navigator and the Portuguese explorers, and last stop along the Belém Tower, built in the XVI century to defend the port of Lisbon and today one of the symbols of Lisbon.
Return to the Hotel.

Day 3
LISBOA – SINTRA – CABO DA ROCA – CASCAIS – LISBOA
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure towards the charming town of Sintra, offering extraordinary beauty and scenery that was once the summer residence of the kings of Portugal. Source of inspiration to famous writers such as Lord Byron and Hans Christian Andersen, the romanticism of Sintra is mainly present in its many palaces, fountains and gardens. Classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage site, the Cultural Landscape of Sintra brings together a perfect combination between nature and the built heritage.
Visit the Pena National Palace, located in one of the highest points of the Serra de Sintra and masterpiece of architectural nineteenth century Romanticism. Based almost all of it in huge boulders, the palace was built by order of King D. Fernando II on the ruins of a hieronimitas monastery in the XV century. The Palace brings together a diversity of architectural styles and impresses for its great beauty. Back to the historic town centre where you can admire also the famous National Palace of Sintra, easily identified by their conical chimneys and a variety of architectural styles from different centuries.

In the afternoon, continuation of the visit towards Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe. Then pass along Guincho where the landscape is dominated by the immense Atlantic Ocean. Short Walking Tour in the fishing village of Cascais. Return to the hotel in Lisbon along the Tagus river passing Estoril, recognized seaside resort where you can admire the famous Casino and its magnificent gardens.

Day 4
LISBOA – ÓBIDOS – NAZARÉ – ALCOBAÇA – FÁTIMA

Departure from the Hotel to Óbidos, charming medieval village enclosed between walls and for several reigns was offering as the wedding present for the queens of Portugal. Beautifully preserved, Óbidos enchants for its authenticity of Portuguese homes. Brief walking tour through the streets of Óbidos. Then, drive to Nazaré, a town of strong fishing traditions with a huge relationship with the sea. From the cliff top Sítio, possibility to admire the immense maritime landscape and the huge sandy beach of Nazaré.

Continuation to Alcobaça to visit the impressive Monastery of Alcobaça that has been built as a result of the promise made by the first king of Portugal – D. Afonso Henriques during the conquest of the town of Santarém from the Moors. The origins of the monastery date back to the XII century and is deeply associated with the Cistercian Order. Visit the Monastery highlighting two masterpieces of Gothic sculpture in Portugal: the tombs of King Pedro I and Inês de Castro, who were involved in a tragic love story in the Middle Ages.
Transfer to Fatima, place of worship and world-famous for the apparitions of the Virgin Mary.

Day 5
FÁTIMA – COIMBRA – PORTO

Departure from the hotel to visit the Sanctuary of Fátima, one of the most important Marian shrines around the world. The basis of their origin dates back to 1917, the year when three shepherd children Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta witnessed several apparitions of Our Lady every day between 13th May to October (with the exception of the month August, which was the 19th). In the Sanctuary, visit the Chapel of the Apparitions, exactly where was the small Holm oak on which Our Lady appeared to the shepherds. Free time for prayer or possibility to attend the mass. Then visit to the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Neo-Baroque style where you can visit the graves of the three shepherds and visit the modern Basilica of the Holy Trinity.

In the afternoon, continue to visit the city of Coimbra, the city of knowledge and eternally linked to students, has one of the oldest and most beautiful universities in the world. After a brief overview through the city, visit to the University of Coimbra founded in 1290 and which highlights from many places of interest: the majestic Baroque Library, Chapel of St. Michael and Hall of Capelos. Then start towards Vila Nova de Gaia for a visit and a Port Wine tasting in one of the famous Port wine Cellars. After the tasting, transfer to the hotel in Porto.

Day 6
PORTO – BRAGA – GUIMARÃES – PORTO
Breakfast at the hotel.
Beginning of the visit of Porto, the second largest city of Portugal and world famous for its wine. With the Douro river at his feet, Porto is a fascinating city where their ancient and contemporary architecture, its bridges and the preserved historic centre are distinguished in the landscape. Short panoramic tour towards the main avenues and emblematic areas of the city. Then visit to the Church of São Francisco, originally dated back to the XIV century, impresses with its majestic gilded interior, constituting one of the most important works of the Baroque in Portugal. Continue with a visit to the famous Stock Exchange Palace, designed by the will of Porto merchants in order to develop and regulate their trade relations. Of great historical interest, the palace impresses especially by the Arab Hall of extraordinary beauty. After this visit, brief walking tour along the typical Ribeira district, part of the Historic Center, recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage Site.

In the afternoon, start towards Braga, a city with over 2000 years of existence and which dates back to Roman times, during which it was called by Bracara Augusta. Visit the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte composed by the church and by an impressive Baroque staircase where The Way to the Cross is carried out.
The Tour continues with a visit to Guimarães, considered the birthplace of the Portuguese nation and was chosen in 1128 as the capital of the Portuguese Province by the first king of Portugal – D. Afonso Henriques. Guimarães is one of the most important historical destinations in Portugal and its historic centre has been classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2001. Visit the Castle of Guimarães and brief passage through the historic centre.

Day 7
PORTO – AVEIRO – BATALHA – LISBON
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out.
Departure from the hotel towards the charming town of Aveiro, famous for its canals and its Ria, being known as the “Portuguese Venice”. Short overview of the city. Possibility of making a traditional boat ride on a Moliceiro boat, easily recognized by their colorful decorations and opportunity to taste the traditional soft eggs in the local shops.

Continued south in direction of Batalha to visit the famous Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitoria, a masterpiece of Gothic style with Manueline elements, built in the order of D. João I. The monastery was built as thanks to the Virgin Mary for the victory of the battle of Aljubarrota which took place in 1385 between the Portuguese and Castilian. The construction of the monastery took two centuries and crossed the reign of seven kings. Currently and since 2007 it is listed as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. Visit the church and cloister. After the visit, departure to Lisbon.

In the evening, farewell dinner in a typical Fado restaurant, famous musical genre expressing the Portuguese soul with strong traditions in this neighborhood of Lisbon.
