Program
Day 1: Rome
Pick up at the Italy airport and transfer to the hotel. Free time. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 2: Rome
Breakfast. One of our religious trips to Italy began with the panoramic visit of the eternal capital: the Venice Square with the Vittorio Emanuel II Monument, the Capitol Hill, the Avenue of the Imperial Forums, the remains of the Imperial Palace, the Colosseum ( exterior), the Arch of Constantine, etc. Then we will make the view of Christian Rome: we will go to the Catacombs and then we will visit the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls and the Cathedral of Rome: Saint John Lateran. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 3: Rome
Breakfast. Visit of the Vatican State with the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, a masterpiece of universal painting and St. Peter’s Basilica. In the afternoon we will visit the interior of the Colosseum, the Basilica of San Clemente, and the Basilica of Saint Peter in Chains with Michelangelo’s Moses. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 4: Rome
Breakfast. In the morning we will go to the Vatican * to attend the Papal Audience. In the event that the Pope is not in the Vatican, we will visit the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore. In the afternoon we will visit Baroque Rome where we will visit the most emblematic fountains and squares of the city: Navona Square, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, etc. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 5: Rome – Monte Sant Angelo – San Giovanni Rotondo
Breakfast. Departure to Monte Sant Angelo, with the grotto of San Miguel Arcángel. Visit the Sanctuary where you will see the Chapel of Reconciliation, the Crypts and the Devotional Museum. Continuation to San Giovanni Rotondo, where Blessed Pio of Pietrelcina lived. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 6: San Giovanni Rotondo
Breakfast. Visit to places related to Padre Pio: the Convent of the Capuchin Fathers, the Church of Our Lady of Graces, the Crypt where the Tomb of Padre Pio is located, the New Church, the monumental Stations of the Cross. The celebration of the Eucharist occupies the center of the pilgrim’s life, so you can participate in the Eucharist in the Church of the Capuchin Fathers where Padre Pio celebrated for so many years. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 7: San Giovanni Rotondo – Loreto – Assisi
Breakfast. Departure to Loreto, where the Holy House is located, located in the Center of the Great Basilica and which has become one of the great pilgrimage centers. It is the same house in Nazareth that the Archangel Gabriel visited at the Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary, it is there where the Word became Flesh and dwelt among us. During the visit we will know how the house got to Loreto. Continuation to Asis. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 8: Assisi – Padua
Breakfast. We will visit some of the places that have to do with the Franciscans of the city: Basilica of San Francisco, where the Tomb of San Francisco, the Basilica of Santa Clara and La Porciúncula in Santa María de los Ángeles, one of the most Sacred for the Franciscans since it was the first church built by him by San Francisco himself. Continuation of our trip to Padua. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 9: Padua – Venice Airport
Breakfast. In the morning departure to Padoua. Visit of the Basilica of San Antonio where the remains of the Saint from Lisbon are found. We will finish our religious trip to Italy at the Venice airport.
